Saturday May 6th – Madeira Art Fair

Come and get your kids inspired for art! Approximately 145 vendors exhibit paintings, pottery, jewelry and various other crafts. Madeira Schools provide Student Art Exhibit in Municipal Building. Madeira High School Boosters sell food and beverages.This even will also include a plant sale.

Time: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Representatives from more than thirty organizations that provide services to children and families will be on hand to share information.

Location: Miami Avenue in Madeira

Library Fun in May

Wednesday May 2nd – kick off summer reading with a Free Coney from Gold Star Chili, and enjoy music from Theaddeus Rex and Rocks. This event will take place at the Madeira Branch from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Thursday May 10th – kick off summer reading at the Symmes Library Branch from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and enjoy a free coney from Gold Star Chili.

Saturday May 19th – have kids who love Lego’s – then have them come and enjoy legos with other kids. Legos are provided by the library! 10:00AM at the Symmes Library Branch


Sunday May 20th – Cincinnati Nature Center – Hands on Nature

Have you checked out the Nature Playscape at The Cincinnati Nature Center? If not, here is your chance to check it out, and have some experts to guide and encourage. Hands-on Nature days are those when a Play Facilitator is available to inspire and interact with children in the nature PlayScape. Play Facilitators will be providing a variety of tools and toys for children to borrow to explore the PlayScape. Each day is a surprise -- items such as shovels, magnifying glasses, mirrors, insect boxes, and collecting containers will be available to use.

When:1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This event is free for members, and non members pay the daily admission fee.

Taste of Cincinnati USA

Taste of Cincinnati USA is held every Memorial Day weekend in downtown Cincinnati. S tarted in 1979, it is the nation's longest running culinary arts festival.

Approximately 500,000 attend the annual food extravaganza, making Taste one of the nation's largest street festivals. In 1997, the event was named Food Event of the Year by Events Business News, the recognized authority of the special events business in the United States, selecting it out of 40,000 special events across the nation.

Taste of Cincinnati USA features more than 40 fine restaurants serving up delicious and delectable menu items. In the weeks leading up to Taste each year, menu items are previewed and judged for prestigious Best of Taste Awards.

Several music stages provide continuous live entertainment featuring local and national recording artists throughout the event. Don’t miss out on the fun!

When: Memorial Day Weekend:
Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, 2012, 12 noon to 12 midnight;
Monday, May 28, 2012, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Where: On six blocks of Fifth Street, from Race Street to Broadway in Downtown Cincinnati.


Montgomery Premier Art Show and Sale – Sunday June 3rd

The Montgomery Arts Commission will feature diverse works by area artists during its annual Art Show and Sale at Swaim Park on Sunday, June 3, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This art show includes a variety of arts from ceramics to jewelry to glass, metal work and more! Pieces will be on display and for sale. Kids can participate in crafts and new this year is a children’s art exhibit. Food and live music will be on hand for all to enjoy.

This will also be a great opportunity check out the newly built Swaim Park Playground, set for completion by June 1st.
